Font smoothing, anti-aliasing, and sub-pixel rendering - Joel on Software - Finally I understand why the “blurry letters” on the Mac screen drove me crazy the first couple of weeks after switching from Windows. I still like Microsoft’s ClearType a bit better than Mac font smoothing.
